Transfer Talk

Dele Alli’s exceptional form in recent weeks, inevitably fuelling rumours of a big money move to one of La Liga’s big boys. The Mirror leads;

‘Barcelona and Real Madrid set for transfer tug-of-war over Tottenham’s Dele Alli’ (Mirror, 7/1/17)

Alternatively, the Sun on Sunday suggests that Dele will, in fact, turn down £800,000 a week and the opportunity to kill his career off overnight, by rejecting a move to China and staying in North London;

‘Dele Alli will snub an £800,000-a-week deal in China to stay with Tottenham in the Premier League’ (Sun on Sunday, 7/1/17)

And, speaking to the Metro, the all knowing La Liga oracle Guillem Balagué says Real Madrid have no intention of signing Dele Alli in any case. So we can all rest easy now;

‘Real Madrid have no intention of trying to sign Spurs midfielder Dele Alli’ (Metro, 6/1/17)

With Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid pulling ahead in Spain, Luis Enrique is coming under pressure at Barcelona. The Daily Star reports that the greatest manager the world has ever seen is coming under consideration;

‘Mauricio Pochettino in line to replace Luis Enrique at Barcelona’ (Daily Star, 8/1/17)

A nice bit of agent mischief making here as the Sunday Express helpfully expresses Tottenham’s interest in Adam Lallana. Undoubtedly Lallana will sign a new double-your-money deal with a handy bit on the side for his agent in the coming weeks;

‘Liverpool to fend off interest from Tottenham by offering Lallana bumper new deal’ (Sunday Express, 8/1/17)

Our longstanding interest in the other Moussa Dembele continues;

‘Tottenham Hotspur Join the Race for £30m-Rated Celtic Striker Moussa Dembele’ (Telegraph, 6/1/17)

So does our interest in Wilfried Zaha. Kind of;

‘Spurs to drop interest in signing Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha in January… but will move for him in the summer’ (Sun, 6/1/17)

And, according to Robbie Savage, we are just one signing away from winning the Premier League title. Yep, that’s right, Savage wants Jermain Defoe back for his third stint at the Lane;

‘Tottenham need just ONE player to give themselves better shot at the title – and make up for last season’s collapse’ (Mirror, 6/1/17)
