Write for Lilywhite Rose

Lilywhite Rose welcomes ideas for articles from all Spurs supporters. We especially want to encourage aspiring writers by providing them with an audience of nearly 20,000 on Twitter alone.

What should I send?

Please summarise your idea in no more than 150 words, including a possible headline, to contact.lilywhiterose@gmail.com. It sounds obvious, but all posts must have clear relevance to Tottenham Hotspur – or have a Spurs ‘twist’. Please do not send us completed pieces before we’ve accepted your idea.

If we accept your pitch we will ask you to write a 500-1000 word piece with your name, photo and (if applicable) Twitter handle included. Send the finished article in the body of your email or as a Word document, not a PDF.

Why are ideas accepted or rejected?

If your post idea clearly conveys one or more of the following, you are much more likely to be commissioned to write up the full post for publication:

  • An original idea or opinion
  • Makes a single, clear argument
  • Something that has not been discussed on Lilywhite Rose before

These are common reasons for which we reject ideas:

  • Something that has been covered repeatedly on Lilywhite Rose and/or elsewhere
  • The article has been published elsewhere
  • Material not obviously related to Tottenham Hotspur
  • Poor or incoherent writing
  • Is factually incorrect or makes defamatory or derogatory statements
